Web of Bakker Belgium

The Logistical Planning department is the spider in the web of Bakker Belgium. Our colleagues here set the pace of operations at Bakker. There is constant coordination with the commercial, shipping, production and ripening departments regarding the required products. Every morning they collect the info they need to draw up the delivery plan for the day, ensuring the perfect flow. Everything here is about connecting, whether with colleagues, external sites or the customer.

Supply Chain Management

Logistieke planning

The Logistical Planning team must maintain a helicopter view to monitor the big picture while also focusing on the finer details. That is why they are experts at communication, organisation and planning. Working with natural products requires flexibility and fast action. Our team doesn’t panic that easily when things don’t go according to plan; instead they react quickly, consider their options and immediately start working on a solution. Inquisitiveness, the ability to solve puzzles, a talent for interpreting and assessing numbers, a meticulous mindset and a love of structure. These are qualities that come naturally to our colleagues. They work in a two-shift system between 5.30 a.m. and 10 p.m., including on Saturdays and Sundays, so that Delhaize always has access to the freshest products.

Planning
By executing all the above tasks correctly, the Logistical Planning department guarantees perfect stock management at Delhaize's distribution centres. Keeping an overview makes it easy to spot when something is not going according to plan. Responding quickly, both internally with the scan locations and with the customer, is key to taking corrective action immediately.

The logistical team is in close contact with different departments within Bakker Belgium but most of all with the commercial team [Link naar pagina commercie] to be able to respond seamlessly to weather conditions, volume fluctuations and other challenges involving the products we work with every day.
